Insurance & Fees

Insurance we accept.

We are in-network with most major plans in Texas and New Jersey, and we will tell you what a session costs before you book one.

Not seeing your plan? You may still have out-of-network benefits, and self-pay and sliding-scale rates are available. Ask at your free consultation — we will give you a number before you commit to anything.

Paying for therapy.

What insurance do you accept?

Soft Power Psychotherapy is in-network with Aetna and Aetna EAP, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and New Jersey, UnitedHealthcare, Optum and Optum EAP, Cigna, and Oscar Health. Self-pay rates and sliding-scale options are also available.

What will therapy actually cost me?

It depends on your specific plan and how much of your deductible you have met, which is why we do not publish a single number. Call the member services number on your card and ask what your copay or coinsurance is for outpatient mental health by telehealth, then bring that answer to your free consultation.

What if you are not in-network with my plan?

You may still have out-of-network benefits that reimburse a portion of each session, and we can provide a superbill for you to submit. Self-pay and sliding-scale rates are also available. Ask at your free consultation and we will tell you the cost before you commit to anything.

Do you offer sliding scale or reduced fees?

Yes. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available for clients for whom the standard rate is a genuine barrier. Ask during your consultation — it is a normal question and it will not affect how you are treated.

Will I get a surprise bill?

No. You will know what a session costs before your first one. Under the federal No Surprises Act you are also entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges if you are uninsured or not using insurance, and we provide one.
